Welcome to FIU's Society of Physics Students

Welcome to the Society of Physics Students FIU homepage. The links in the left will take you to the different parts of our website. Feel free to navigate and play with the menu if you find it interesting. If at any time you want to come back to the main page, just click Home on the main banner. You will also find a link to FIU's main page and to our Physics department.

SPS is an organization designed especially for students. Although most of us are physics majors, you do not have to be a physics major to join. The only pre-requisite is an interest in physics!

We meet monthly in VH-165 (The building next to the library across from the lake and OE). At the meetings we plan SPS events. We help the astronomers (Dr. Webb, Dr. Simpson, and Dr. Van Hamme) with their public outreach lectures given on certain Fridays. This includes star parties that are organized in the beginning and end of every semester.

Take a look at the Archives page to see what kind of SPS events we have held. We go to the beach, movies, have barbeque, game nights and this year we held the first ever "QUANTUM LEAP" event. So come join us and enjoy physics.
